For the weekend - Louisville shows and auditions (Jan. 29 edition)

This weekend, one theatre goes fishing and another goes flying while another goes rock. Actors Theatre will present a prequel to Peter Pan called Peter and the Starchaser. Centerstage, meanwhile, gets into telling larger-than-life stories in the musical Big Fish. Last, but not least, Acting Against Cancer brings forth St. Jimmy and the rest of American Idiot. Check them all out starting this weekend!

Speaking of this weekend, many shows in the Louisville theatre scene will end this weekend. Check out productions from Wayward, Walden/Blue Apple, Actors, and Alley, all of whom have shows closing this weekend. Derby Dinner also has a show going on until mid-February. Check them out before it's too late!

Finally, there is a smorgasbord of auditions of which to feast upon, including one today and two others in the next few days. Get involved in the Louisville theatre scene in one of those ways.

Enjoy!

For the weekend - Louisville shows and auditions (Jan. 22 edition)

Before I begin, please please be safe out on the roads tonight, if you absolutely have to drive, that is. As of this writing, the snow hasn't hit Louisville yet, but it will soon. Be careful, and if you planning to see a show tonight, check with that particular theatre company to see if they will still be going on. Some will, some won't.

In the meantime, there are plenty of opportunities to see theatre in Louisville this weekend. New shows include the touring production of a Disney classic, a new addition to Wayward's highly acclaimed Unhindered and Ungendered revue series and Walden's newest addition to their Cornerstone Classics series. Check them out this weekend.

Don't forget about the shows already going on, including three that will close this weekend. Check them out before it's too late!

Finally, there are a TON of auditions slated to take place within the next six weeks. Some are for single shows but others are for complete seasons, including this weekend with Liminal Playhouse. The Bard's Town and (newly posted) Centerstage are not far behind. Two other groups have open auditions, and plenty have single show ones. Preregistration may be required for some of these, so look into them and get involved in the Louisville theatre scene!

Be safe this weekend. Enjoy!
