For the weekend - Louisville shows and auditions (Aug. 28 edition)

The Alley Theater finds itself Takin' Over the Asylum this weekend. This play features a DJ and a host of colorful characters in a mental institution's radio station. Lots of laughs and heartfelt moments to follow. Check it out this weekend.

Meanwhile, several musicals, comedies, and tributes to famous singers will continue into this weekend from Centerstage, Louisville Repertory Company, Hayswood, and Derby Dinner. A great variety of works, but tickets have been selling fast for all of them. Get yours while you can!

For the weekend - Louisville theatre shows and auditions (Aug. 7 edition)

This weekend finds the closing of the summer season for KY Shakespeare as well as the opening of several musicals in the region. For KY Shakespeare, two local theatre groups, Theatre 502 and The Bard's Town, will present shows on the Central Park stage this weekend for free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and bug spray for these very entertaining shows.

Just a short drive from Louisville are three community theatres opening up ever-popular musicals this weekend. Shelbyville, Elizabethtown and Brownstown, IN, play host to Footloose, Hairspray and All Shook Up, respectively. Check these shows out and have a mini-weekend getaway.
